From all the videos i have watches recently i have realized they don't all have story lines and some you need watch it all to understand and some you don't. I went to the Tate art gallery and watched Paul McCarthy's video called material gestures. This didn't have a beginning middle or an end as it was expressive and you could walk in and still understand what it was about.
However when i watched the film Doll face it did have a narrative and had a story to it as she changed from the beginning and had a journey and i needed to watch the whole film to understand the meaning. it doesn't necessarily matter if you have a narrative or non- narrative videos as long as the audience relates with it or the film maker gets what he wants in the end.
