Experimental Video diary

I did my final editing yesterday, I added transitions to make it look smoother and to look more professional. I then removed the sound so it was silent because i had talking in the background and it didn't fit together very well. I also wanted it silent because I wanted to audience to concentrate on the peoples faces not the sound they are making. I also added a title called Good times, Bad times to finish it off.

Evaluation of experimental video

I had to change my idea as I could not film it s it kept raining, but I think it ruined it a bit because it was rushed and not planned very well. I think it will turn out okay but not as good as it would have been if i could do my original idea. I have the people in my class doing the acting but because they are not actors it dose look a bit cheesy and not very well done but i think my concept should come through to the audience. I think that my video is experimental as I have looked at many other experimental videos in class and have realised that an experimental video can be whatever the artist wants it to be. I think my video is personal as its what I think and feel, however other experimental videos can appeal to a broader audience. Mine is like other experimental videos as its what I wanted it to be about and it dose not matter if the audience get it or not. Now that my video is finished I think it looks better than I thought it would. Because I got rid of sound it made it less cheesy and looks more polished. I'm happy with what I have but it would have been better if I had longer shots of each people.
Looking at my questionnaire's i realized that people understood my experimental video, lot of people said that it was about happy times and bad times which is exactly what i was trying to say. It wouldnt have mattered if anyone understand what my concept was but all the people who watched it understood.

Experimental video diary

I started editing on the 12th nov, I just cut up the film so it all fitted to together and I got rid of film I didn't need. I found doing editing easy because I had done it before but I found it wasn't precise enough. I had to put the film in the order I want and am going to add some transitions to make it look better.

Experimental video diary

I filmed my experimental video on the 10th of nov and I had to change it because Iwas meant to film it outside but it kept raining every time I went to film and I didn't have much time left so had to change it so I could do it in time.
I was meant to have a person going up a hill to signify good times in life and happy memories and then them going down a hill to signify the bad times and bad memories. Instead of having the hill i just had close ups of peoples faces being happy and laughing and them the same people being upset and unhappy. This is to show we have good and bad times in life.
I asked everyone in my class if they would do it and many said they would. I had my background as a white wall so you would concentrate on the people. I had a camera on a tripod and just filmed them all in close up of there faces.
I think it went well and should look good when I edit it together.

Exhibition of experimental video

I plan to show my video at Southgate park as that is where i am planning to film my experimental video. I want people who are my age to watch it to see if they get what I'm trying to show and the point I'm trying to making. I will have a video camera with my film on it and ask people if they can watch it and ask them to complete my survey.
